Help shoppers find the thing, and get named when they ask an assistant.

I help retailers and consumer brands fix how shoppers find products, build the tools partners and vendors use, and get named when people ask ChatGPT or Copilot for a recommendation. For HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, the category research cut twelve categories to seven and raised shopper confidence 13%. A one-hour second opinion on your site is $150.

Why can't customers find products on my website?

Usually because the categories are named for how the company is organized instead of how shoppers think, there are too many of them, search does not know the words shoppers use, and the filters do not match how people choose. You fix it by testing the menu with real shoppers before redesigning anything. The full answer covers the tests.

What did the HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams work change?

The research cut the paint site's categories from twelve to seven, folded six utility categories into two, left no orphan pages, and raised shopper confidence 13%. It was card sorting and tree testing with real shoppers, then a menu built from what they did instead of what the org chart said. The case study has the details.

How can a retailer or consumer brand use AI?

On the repeat work: first drafts of product descriptions, cleaned-up photos, customer service replies, inventory and reorder notes, and reading reviews in bulk. A person checks anything a customer reads before it goes out. The newer job is getting your products named when people ask an assistant for a recommendation, which is what AI search work covers. More in how retailers use AI.

What makes a good vendor or partner portal?

A portal works when it is built around the partner's job, shows the status of every order, agreement, and payment without a phone call, and keeps commitments in one place. At Catalyst Studios I worked on the UX and the build of Target's Marketing Partner Agreements platform, where Target sells marketing placements to its vendors and tracks what each one committed. What makes a good portal goes through the rest.

What does it cost to start?

A one-hour second opinion on your site is $150. The 90-minute session on the AI inside your existing tools is $450, and a half-day workshop is $1,500. An AI search check-up is $150 and a full profile is $600. Brand identity starts at $2,500 and websites at $6,000. Anything over $3,000 can be paid by the month, no interest.

Questions

Do you work with small shops or only national retailers?
Both. Target and Best Buy are national, and the same category and search problems show up on a shop with two hundred products.
Can you get my products recommended by ChatGPT?
Assistants name the products they can find, read, and trust, and I make yours easy on all three. The check-up is $150 and shows where you stand today.
How do you test a product category menu?
Card sorting, where shoppers group your products their own way, and tree testing, where they try to find things in a menu with no design on it. Both run online with real shoppers.
Do you redesign packaging?
Brand identity, yes, and the system the packaging uses. Final packaging production goes to a packaging specialist, and I work with them.
Have you built enterprise tools for retailers?
Yes. At Catalyst Studios I worked on the UX and the build of Target's Marketing Partner Agreements platform.
Can you review a campaign before it launches?
Yes. A second opinion on a campaign is an hour for $150, and I have reviewed retail work since my first job at Olson.
