What happens in a one-day AI workshop?

Before the day, a prep call and a short survey for the team. In the morning, everybody's work goes on the wall and people mark where the hours go. After lunch, the room scores each idea on how much it would help against how hard it would be. The day ends with a ranked list and one decision. It costs $3,500 with me.

A one-day AI workshop is your team, in a room, putting their real work on the wall and ranking what to fix. It ends with a list and one decision. Here is the day in order.

What happens in a one-day AI workshop?

The shape of the day:

  • Before: prep call and survey. A call with you about the business and the goal. A short survey for the team, about fifteen minutes each, on where their time goes.
  • Morning: the work on the wall. Each team lays out how its work actually moves, on paper, step by step. Then everybody marks the steps that eat time or cause mistakes.
  • Afternoon: scoring. The room scores each idea on two things: how much it would help, and how hard it would be.
  • Last hour: the decision. The top of the list becomes the plan. The room picks one thing to do first and who owns it.
  • After: the readout. A written summary of the ranked list, the decision, and the next steps.

Why put the work on paper instead of a slide?

Because people tell the truth at a wall. On a slide, the process looks the way the manager thinks it works. On paper, with the people who do it standing there, the extra steps show up: the spreadsheet somebody keeps on the side, the email that has to be sent twice, the order that waits until Tuesday.

That is also why the workshop goes better in a room. On site or remote covers when each format works.

What does a real decision look like?

At one, a Minnesota consumer products company, the room made a decision on the spot about when the warehouse prints orders. No software and no consultant after the day. One change to one step, picked by the people who do the work.

Sometimes the top item on the list is not AI at all. It is a step nobody needed once it was on the wall.

Who should be in the room?

The people who do the work, not only the people who manage it. Six to twelve is the right size. The owner or the executive sponsor should be there for the opening and the decision. In the middle, people talk more freely without the boss in the chair.

What do we walk out with?

A ranked list of ideas, each scored on help and difficulty. One decision with an owner. A list of things you now know not to buy.

Pricing and what is included are on what an AI workshop costs and the workshop page. The day is $3,500. Two days, with clean workflow maps and a plan by department, is $6,500. Book through the start form.

Quick answers

What time does a one-day AI workshop start and end?
It runs a normal working day with a lunch break. We set the times on the prep call around your shifts.
Does everyone need a laptop for the AI workshop?
No. Most of the day is paper and markers on a wall.
What if the top idea from the workshop is a software build?
Then it gets scoped separately at a fixed price. You are under no obligation to build it with me.
Can the workshop cover more than one department?
Yes. Each department gets its own section of the wall, and the scoring is done together so the list is one list.
What happens in the week after the workshop?
You get the written readout, and the owner of the first decision starts on it. The list is yours to work through.
